Across TCGA patient cohorts, XIST mutation is significantly associated with the total protein of many other genes, with 73 significant associations in total. UCEC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible XIST-associated genes across cancer lineages are NF2, Rad50, and beta-Catenin. Each is linked with XIST in more than 4 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both XIST-to-partner and partner-to-XIST results are reported.
