Across TCGA patient cohorts, WAPL protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 9,550 significant associations in total. BRCA shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible WAPL-associated genes across cancer lineages are DNA2, NOLC1, and KIF20B. Each is linked with WAPL in more than 7 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both WAPL-to-partner and partner-to-WAPL results are reported.
