Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TUBB8 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TUBB8 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where higher TUBB8 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TUBB8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
LIHC, ESCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where TUBB8 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
