Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMSB15B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TMSB15B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where TMSB15B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TMSB15B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and PRAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, KIRC, and HNSC are the cancer types where TMSB15B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
