Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ST7-OT4 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ST7-OT4’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where ST7-OT4 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ST7-OT4 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, KIRC, and COAD are the cancer types where ST7-OT4 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
