Across TCGA patient cohorts, SMAD5 mutation is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 4,687 significant associations in total. UCEC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible SMAD5-associated genes across cancer lineages are LINC01849, RNU6-1148P, and LINC02559. Each is linked with SMAD5 in more than 1 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both SMAD5-to-partner and partner-to-SMAD5 results are reported.
