Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RPL36AP14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RPL36AP14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where RPL36AP14 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RPL36AP14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BRCA, LUAD, and LUSC are the cancer types where RPL36AP14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
