Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU7-11P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU7-11P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where RNU7-11P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU7-11P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, KIRC, and COAD are the cancer types where RNU7-11P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
