Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, RNU1-91P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of RNU1-91P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where RNU1-91P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types RNU1-91P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, THCA, and BLCA are the cancer types where RNU1-91P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
