Across TCGA patient cohorts, PYGM protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 16,054 significant associations in total. LSCC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible PYGM-associated genes across cancer lineages are SYNPO2, MYOM1, and SGCA. Each is linked with PYGM in more than 8 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both PYGM-to-partner and partner-to-PYGM results are reported.
