Across TCGA patient cohorts, NEFH protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 17,620 significant associations in total. GBM shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible NEFH-associated genes across cancer lineages are ADH1B, ABCB1, and DIO3. Each is linked with NEFH in more than 3 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both NEFH-to-partner and partner-to-NEFH results are reported.
