Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-TR RNA is linked to patient survival in 18 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MT-TR data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in uveal melanoma (UVM), where higher MT-TR RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-TR expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as THCA and LUSC show a favorable association.

UVM, KIRC, and MESO are the cancer types where MT-TR RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
