Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-TN RNA is linked to patient survival in 12 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MT-TN data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher MT-TN RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-TN expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LGG and OV show a favorable association.

KIRC, READ, and UVM are the cancer types where MT-TN RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
