Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MKS1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MKS1 data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher MKS1 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MKS1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and LUSC show a favorable association.
SKCM, CESC, and KICH are the cancer types where MKS1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
