Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MBL3P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MBL3P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where MBL3P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MBL3P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUSC, BRCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where MBL3P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
