Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KIAA0319L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KIAA0319L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where KIAA0319L RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KIAA0319L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, LIHC, and STAD are the cancer types where KIAA0319L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
