Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HMGA1P2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HMGA1P2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where HMGA1P2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HMGA1P2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, STAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where HMGA1P2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
