Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM149A RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated FAM149A data layer compared with 4 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher FAM149A RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated FAM149A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRP and UCEC show a favorable association.
KIRP, UCEC, and BRCA are the cancer types where FAM149A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
