Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CA5A RNA is linked to patient survival in 22 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated CA5A data layer compared with 3 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine carcinosarcoma (UCS), where higher CA5A RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated CA5A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LIHC and LUAD show a favorable association.
UCS, THCA, and KIRC are the cancer types where CA5A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
