Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, C14orf28 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of C14orf28’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where C14orf28 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types C14orf28 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, BLCA, and COAD are the cancer types where C14orf28 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
