Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, BUB3P1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of BUB3P1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where BUB3P1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types BUB3P1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, COAD, and THCA are the cancer types where BUB3P1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
