Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZYG11A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZYG11A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where ZYG11A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZYG11A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, THCA, and KIRP are the cancer types where ZYG11A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
