Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF517 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF517’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where ZNF517 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF517 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, LIHC, and HNSC are the cancer types where ZNF517 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
