Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF404 RNA is linked to patient survival in 26 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated ZNF404 data layer compared with 5 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher ZNF404 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated ZNF404 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PAAD and BLCA show a favorable association.

KIRC, PAAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where ZNF404 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
