Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZFX mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated ZFX data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 11 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where higher ZFX mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated ZFX expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
UCEC, HNSC, and LSCC are the cancer types where ZFX mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
