Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZFP91-CNTF RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZFP91-CNTF’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where ZFP91-CNTF RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZFP91-CNTF is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

HNSC, LIHC, and STAD are the cancer types where ZFP91-CNTF tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
