Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZC3H12D RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZC3H12D’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where ZC3H12D RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZC3H12D is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, HNSC, and KICH are the cancer types where ZC3H12D tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
