Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZC3H12A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZC3H12A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where ZC3H12A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZC3H12A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KICH, BRCA, and COAD are the cancer types where ZC3H12A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
