Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZBTB7A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZBTB7A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where ZBTB7A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZBTB7A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as UCEC and BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, UCEC, and BLCA are the cancer types where ZBTB7A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
