Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, XIST Mutation is linked to patient survival in 7 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated XIST data layer compared with 20 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where higher XIST Mutation is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated XIST expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and LUSC show a favorable association.
UCEC, OV, and THYM are the cancer types where XIST Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
