Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, XIAP Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated XIAP data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher XIAP Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated XIAP expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
HNSC and UCEC are the cancer types where XIAP Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
