Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, WTIP mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated WTIP data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), where higher WTIP mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated WTIP expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC show a favorable association.
LSCC and CCRCC are the cancer types where WTIP mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
