Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, WHSC1L2P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of WHSC1L2P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where WHSC1L2P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types WHSC1L2P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, THCA, and KIRC are the cancer types where WHSC1L2P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
