Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, WBP2NL RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of WBP2NL’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where WBP2NL RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types WBP2NL is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, LIHC, and KIRC are the cancer types where WBP2NL tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
