Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, WASH4P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of WASH4P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where WASH4P RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types WASH4P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PRAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, HNSC, and CHOL are the cancer types where WASH4P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
