Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, VDAC1P2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of VDAC1P2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where VDAC1P2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types VDAC1P2 is over-expressed in tumor.
BLCA, COAD, and LUAD are the cancer types where VDAC1P2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
