Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, UQCRQ RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of UQCRQ’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where UQCRQ RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types UQCRQ is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as HNSC and STAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, LUAD, and HNSC are the cancer types where UQCRQ tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
