Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, UMOD RNA is linked to patient survival in 15 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated UMOD data layer compared with 10 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), where higher UMOD RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated UMOD expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BRCA and CHOL show a favorable association.
ACC, COAD, and LUSC are the cancer types where UMOD RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
