Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, UCP1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated UCP1 data layer compared with 6 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher UCP1 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated UCP1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LUSC and THYM show a favorable association.
SKCM, LUSC, and LGG are the cancer types where UCP1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
