Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, UBL5 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of UBL5’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where UBL5 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types UBL5 is over-expressed in tumor.

LIHC, HNSC, and BRCA are the cancer types where UBL5 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
