Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TRIM72 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TRIM72’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where TRIM72 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TRIM72 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, BRCA, and KIRP are the cancer types where TRIM72 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
