Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TRIM49C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TRIM49C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where TRIM49C RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TRIM49C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, LUAD, and LUSC are the cancer types where TRIM49C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
