Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TPM1-AS RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TPM1-AS’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where TPM1-AS RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TPM1-AS is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, KICH, and BRCA are the cancer types where TPM1-AS tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
