Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TOMM40L mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TOMM40L data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where higher TOMM40L mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TOMM40L expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC show a favorable association.
LUAD, GBM, and LSCC are the cancer types where TOMM40L mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
