Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMPRSS11B RNA is linked to patient survival in 17 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TMPRSS11B data layer compared with 8 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher TMPRSS11B RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMPRSS11B expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and LUSC show a favorable association.
HNSC, DLBC, and LUSC are the cancer types where TMPRSS11B RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
