Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM9 RNA is linked to patient survival in 23 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TMEM9 data layer compared with 4 for mutation status and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher TMEM9 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM9 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as DLBC and LUAD show a favorable association.
HNSC, UVM, and KICH are the cancer types where TMEM9 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
