Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM59L RNA is linked to patient survival in 26 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated TMEM59L data layer compared with 3 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher TMEM59L RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM59L expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LGG and PAAD show a favorable association.
KIRP, ACC, and BLCA are the cancer types where TMEM59L RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
