Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM50A Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TMEM50A data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher TMEM50A Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM50A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
SKCM, BLCA, and READ are the cancer types where TMEM50A Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
