Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM38B Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated TMEM38B data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher TMEM38B Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated TMEM38B expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and LUAD show a favorable association.
SKCM, UCEC, and LUAD are the cancer types where TMEM38B Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
