Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TMEM256-PLSCR3 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TMEM256-PLSCR3’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where TMEM256-PLSCR3 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TMEM256-PLSCR3 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, LIHC, and KIRP are the cancer types where TMEM256-PLSCR3 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
